Area Information
Kagawong, "where mists rise from the falling waters", is the descriptive Ojibwe name for this North Channel community.
The falling and flowing waters of the Kagawong River, were once harnessed to drive the machinery of the Kagawong Mill.

The Township of Billings occupies the north central portion of Manitoulin Island.
The M'Chigeeng First Nation Reserve is within the boundaries of Billings, with Mindemoya directly to the south. Township of Billings
