Area Information
The Township of Macdonald, Meredith & Aberdeen Additional is located along the shores of Lake George, 30 kilometres east of Sault Ste. Marie.
Echo Bay is home to the Loon Dollar Monument, situated on Highway 17B. The Monument is dedicated to Mr. Robert R. Carmichael, the artist responsible for the creation of the design on Canada’s One Dollar Coin, known as the “Loonie”.
The beauty of this area is enhanced by the wildlife and the boardwalk. The boardwalk is 2,200 feet of accessible paths where visitors can view the picturesque shores of Lake George and the wetlands. Algoma Country
