About the reservoir: Fox Hill Reservoir was built in 1966 as a part of an industrial water system for the new FPI fish plant and Marystown Shipyard being built at the time. The town connected to it a few years later (in the late 60's). The reservoir was created by constructing concrete dams at the North and South ends of a small valley. The reservoir is filled by the Clam Pond Pumping system about 3.3 km's north in the back country. Fox Hill supplies all users by gravity. The full elevation is about 105 meters and has a surface area of 1.72 ha. when full. The water is screened and disinfected by chlorine but there is no treatment.
