Area Information
Grandville is a city in Kent County in the U.S. state of Michigan. The population was 15,378 at the 2010 census. Grandville is one of the oldest suburbs of Grand Rapids, and was incorporated as a city in 1933.
Grandville was geographically an important place during the logging years in Michigan's history due to its location at the "river-bend" of the Grand River. It was important to have people there to make sure the logs did not jam up as the river turned north-west toward Grand Haven.
The city was named for the Grand River.
Grandville is an excellent place to live, work and play. Some call Grandville the “the city of churches and parks"
The city is located near the southwest corner of Grand Rapids.

The Grandville Historical Commission gathers, explores, and preserves knowledge about Grandville and its vicinity; collects and classifies objects, letters, pictures, records, documents and other information relating to the past of Grandville and its vicinity; presents and illustrates the history of Grandville and its vicinity; and produces and distributes information in connection with the foregoing.
