The tower was once used by the railroad and is located beside the train station. It was later used by the water system for the village. It was decommissioned around 1980.
 
 
Area information.
The water tower (tank) is located beside the railway station. It is the first station stop northwest of Toronto Union Station for Via Rail's Canadian. It was also the first stop northwest of Union Station for the Ontario Northland Railway's Northlander, until the train service was discontinued in 2012.
