Area Information
This 1000 resident community is the center of a rich farming district, 15 km west of North Bay. It was settled by Reverend Richard Paradis who convinced French-speaking settlers from Michigan to resettle into this area, which was already bilingual. The region began to grow in the 1880s, with the arrival of the Canadian Pacific Railway (CPR). Wikipedia
