Area Information
Schomberg is a small village located at the north end of King Township.
Nestled on the north shoulder of the Oak Ridges Moraine. The village of Schomberg was settled in 1830 and was initially known as Brownsville after the first landowners.
At the turn of the century, the Aurora/Schomberg railway came to town, and a private residence was converted into a railway station. With the advent of better roads and cars, the railway closed in 1927 and the house reverted to being a private home. Schomberg Village Association
