Location:
Nestled in a valley in the Township of Clarke, in Durham Country, 29 km east of Cobourg, lays the hamlet of Kendal. Settlement in this area actually started in the 1840’s.
- On February 1st, 1857, the Kendal Post Office was opened. Folks called at the post office for their mail, and the practice was kept up until 2002, when residents in the village were provided with government mailboxes Rural residents used to have their mail delivered by horse and buggy on unplowed roads.
