Area Information
Harrow is located
in Essex County and 29 km's from Windsor.
Hiram Walker, of Canadian Club Whisky fame is credited with putting Harrow on the map. Walker built the railroad, which then brought grain into the city for use in his distillery. Early settlers were mostly German.

Other refugees from the United States who had been living temporarily on Grosse Isle in the Detroit River joined these soldiers. These early settlers formed the South Essex Militia that defended their new home land from American conquests in the War of 1812. Harrow
