More tower information
It provided a source of water for the CPR steam locomotives as well as for fire protection services fot the CPR built resort' facilities which closed it's doors in 1964. The tower was designated a historical site on June 23, 1998. This CPR tower is currently owned by the Town of Winnipeg Beach

Location:
In 1901, Sir William Whyte of the Canadian Pacific Railroad purchased 330 acres on the west shore for $3,000. In June 1903, the first Winnipeg Beach train brought up vacationers to their new summer paradise.
