Photo Credits: Fort Steele Heritage Town (Curatorial Department) Replica Tower Location: Fort Steele Heritage Town Tower Information (02-05) (for pictures and info for the original water tower, click here) The replica tower was built in 1967 before fire destroyed the original water tower. It is not situated on the original site. Stairs have been built inside and visitors can view the site and surrounding area from two windows facing each direction. The top part of the replica tower is different from the original water tower which did not, of course, contain eight windows (therefore it is not an exact replica). Entrance to the look-out tower is on the right. Fort Steele Heritage Town was designated an historic site on 06 March 1961. It was originally named Fort Steele Historic Park. |
