Area Information
The Town of Calypso is located within Township of Faison, a minor civil division of Duplin County.
In the winter of 1902, the Rev. Peter McIntyre began to preach occasionally at Goshen Grove Crossroads in an open-air pulpit on a produce loading platform located beside the railroad tracks.
Calypso and surrounding areas are mainly rural, agricultural areas. With the many farmers and acres of farmland, turkey production, chicken production and hog production, we definitely fall into the realm of agribusiness.
