Personal
In this section I have posted some postcards of my old neighbourhood. Also, with cards, I'm trying to trace the route that I had to walk to grade school; four times back and forth on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays and twice on Wednesdays and Saturdays when we only went to school in the mornings.
Wednesday and Saturday afternoons were spent exploring the city (and getting into trouble!!) virtually all cards shown on this web site bring up memories of my youth. Because of us roaming the city (no TV to keep us busy), now more than 60 years later, I still remember most of the street names of the city.
NOTE: It seems that I have been collecting postcards "forever". I remember that as a young boy I went to retirement homes asking the residents to donate their old postcards to a 'worthy' cause. In 1975 I took my collection with me when visiting The Netherlands and sold them all. About ten years ago (2007) I started collecting postcards again.
